Don't know what to sell on eBay? Everything Else - Unusual eBay Opportunity! |
![]() Unique Ways to Earn Money on eBay - The Everything Else Category Now, here's an unusual eBay selling niche - haunted dolls. Oh, and haunted bracelets and other jewelry as well. Unique ways to earn money on eBay to be sure, but it certainly seems to be working for many people. Type in "haunted dolls" (completed listings) on eBay and you'll find a few hundred items that have recently been up for auction. And most of them sell!!! The same with haunted bracelets, though the number is smaller than haunted dolls. But they can bring you some money as well. You will usually find haunted items in the Everything Else (Metaphysical and Weird Stuff sub categories) category. The Everything Else category is truly a phenomenon in itself, and certainly one of the many unique ways to earn money for someone willing to think outside the box. But, to me, the Everything Else category is a tough niche to crack. I tried twice to list on Everything Else and couldn't make any money. (Hey, I had a coconut with what looked like eyes that gave me the creeps. That should have sold, right?) I've seen some people with no feedback sell a rugby shirt for over a thousand dollars. What made the shirt special? A friend who died used to wear it. Then there was the person who sold a jar with nothing in it. What made it special? The person held it near a red carpet event when Brad Pitt was walking by. Thus, the jar contained the air that Brad Pitt breathed. Or, what about the mother who sold a stubby pencil her child used for the entire year of school? If you're the first with a gimmick, then someone will buy it. You just have to discover your eBay niche. The trick with the Everything Else category is research, research, research. If you want to understand the many unique ways to earn money on eBay you should study the people who are successful eBay Sellers, the Powersellers. They usually have a good story that goes with their item. A good story sometimes makes the difference between a successful action and one with no bids. Some savvy Powersellers in the Everything Else category know this, and are always on the prowl for unusual items up for auction that have no story attached, and presented blandly. They then buy the item really cheap, remarket the item with great graphics, photo and story, and sell the item for hundreds of dollars! I saw it happen once with a guy selling a green apple shaped like a person's butt. He bought it for a penny, took a photo of the apple wearing pants pulled down to expose a "butt crack," told a clever story, and sold the apple for several hundred dollars. That's the type of awareness you need with this category. Need more unusual ways to make money online through eBay? Be on the lookout for unusual food, like a pickle that splits at the middle, so you have a two-headed pickle. Or, potato chips or tortilla chips that are shaped like someone special, say The Virgin Mary or Jay Leno. For awhile there anything related to Jay Leno would sell. But, then the eBay market got saturated. Toast items were big for awhile, with images of anything that appeared in your toast. Other Weird Things that have Sold on eBay Virginity There were about a dozen of auctions that put one's virginity on the limelight. There was even one auction that sold for $10,000,000 with 17 bidders at the most. Though, there was no clear implication if the report was true enough. "Fully Functioning" Kidneys The reported bid amount was $5.7 million. There was no way to verify the truth, but reports said that the sale did not push through. Virgin Mary Grilled Cheese Sandwich The report about a 10-year old Virgin Mary grilled cheese sandwich that sold for $28,000 was the most sensationalized and the weirdest stuff ever sold on E-bay. The seller was an old woman from Miami, Florida. The GoldenPalace.com, an online casino, had won the auction. Executives of the company said that $28,000 was nothing compared to the privilege of getting to own this 10-year old half-bitten sandwich bearing the face of Virgin Mary. eBay® is a registered trademark of eBay®, Inc. eBay®, Inc. is not associated with eBaySellingIdeas.com, nor is eBaySellingIdeas.com associated with eBay® in any way.
