Don't know what to sell on eBay? From Listing to Selling - eBay Tips! |
![]() eBay Selling Tips! Why do some people live off their eBay income and others seem to struggle? A lot of it comes down to attitude (you have to believe you can make it) and hard work. You have to see opportunity and take it. You have to have the ability to see outside the box. An eBay business can be one of the most profitable home based businesses on the internet and people have become rich on eBay auctions selling the most mundane things. For example, I heard there's a woman on eBay who makes a million a year selling bubble wrap! It make sense. With all the collectibles sellers on eBay, there's a real need for bubble wrap. And what better place to buy than eBay? (Remember, whether you buy or sell on eBay, you get feedback either way, and feedback is very important.) To help you in your quest to make money on eBay, here are eBay Selling Ideas How to Make Money Selling on eBay: Top 10 eBay Selling Tips! eBay Selling Tips #1: Waht to know the best way to start an eBay business? Research, research, research! The best way to make money on online auctions is to study the Powersellers! Study what type of eBay store they have, what they sell, how they price their products, and the keywords they use to describe their products. They're successful for a reason. They have a secret to their success. Begin learning sellers secrets to eBay success and you're on your way! Also, be sure you have created an SBA business plan, that is, a business plan that is professional enough to secure an SBA loan should you ever need one to expand your eBay business. A business plan is a road map that will help your eBay business stay on track. eBay Selling Tips #2: Don't sell what everyone else is selling! When we said do what the Powersellers do, that doesn't mean copy what they're selling. Copy how they're selling. Of course there will probably be some people selling what you're selling, but don't sell what's already oversaturated in the eBay market. eBay Selling Tips #3: Consider dropshipping. Drop shipping will allow you to sell those products that are in demand, while not having to worry about shipping or holding onto inventory. Go to our homepage to find out more about dropshipping on eBay. eBay Selling Tips #4: When's the best time to list on eBay? In my experience and other experiences I've read about, listing an item to close on Sunday night appears to be the best time. Tuesday, for me, seems to be a bad day for an item to close. (This is my experience. I've read other people's experiences which were different. You might want to experiment for yourself which day is the best time to list on eBay.) Sometimes it depends on the items you're selling. If you're selling items for businesses, list your items to begin and close during business hours during the weekdays. If you're selling to young adults, don't pick a time that competes with any popular television program. Also, Friday nights are usually not good times for young adults as many of them go out on Friday nights. If you have items which don't get alot of bidders, it's good to pick a time which has a good deal of people online, like Sunday nights. For any group, though make sure the time your auction opens and closes does not compete with popular television programming or other special events, as the busiest times for any auctions are the beginning and end of the auction. As for your eBay listing duration: if you have a rarer item, you want to go for a longer listing as you want to give people more time to find your listing. If it's a very common item like iPods, a 3-day listing is just fine. I always go for a 7-day listing. eBay Selling Tips #5: Make sure you have good photos. Invest in a digital camera of 3 megapixels or up. If you don't have access to a digital camera, but have a regular 35mm camera, have the photos put on a photodisc and load the photos onto your computer with the disc. A fuzzy, crappy photo is a real bid killer. eBay Selling Tips #6: To be successful with online auctions, it's good to answer e-mail questions promptly. Check regularly to see if potential buyers have questions. Don't turn the buyers away by not anwering their questions. eBay Selling Tips #7: Be totally accurate and honest when describing your item. Don't withhold any flaw. Best to turn away some potential buyers than risk ruining your feedback with a disgruntled buyer. eBay Selling Tips #8: In my opinion, if you're the seller, best to wait until you receive feedback from the buyer before offering feedback to them. It's good to see how the buyer handles such things as slow ground delivery, or an item broken during the mailing process. Which brings us to the next eBay Selling Tips #9: When mailing breakable items, don't be stingy with the bubble wrap! Most people will be impressed with a carefully-wrapped item, and will mention it in your feedback. eBay Selling Tips #10: Don't overinflate the shipping costs. While it is customary to put in a buck or two for the "handling" charges, don't try to make a killing on the shipping costs. Most potential buyers will be turned off with your money grubbing attempts and will buy the product from someone with decent mailing costs. Want more eBay Selling Tips?
