How to Start Your Own eBay Store

Serious about making big money selling on eBay? Then it's time to give some thought about how to start an eBay store which will take your business to the next level.

An eBay store is like having your own website filled with your own products. However, unlike a website which may be costly and take awhile to set up, a basic eBay store can be had for only $15.95 per month for a 5-page store, and can take minutes to set up. As an added bonus, you can have a 30-day trial to see if an eBay store is for you. To be eligible to open a store you must meet the following requirements:

  • Must have seller's account, with credit card on file
  • Feedback score of 20 or higher, or ID Verified
  • PayPal account in good standing

How to Start an eBay Store:

1) Have your inventory and photos ready.

2) Pick a name for your store (Try to use descriptive terms in your name. If you're selling computers, put computers in the name)

3) Log into eBay and go to "sell." At the bottom of the "sell" page you'll see a link for "open an ebay store." Click on that and follow the directions for building your store. Basically you just follow the template directions. It's that easy.

The Benefits of Selling in your own eBay store versus individual auctions:

1) The cost for listing items is much lower than on individual auctions

2) Listings can be up for 30 to 60 days

3) You don't have to worry about relisting an item after 7 days if it doesn't sell

4) You're allowed 5,000 promotional emails a month to send to your customers

5) You can create links to your store from your website, blog, emails or articles you submit to article sites

6) Create promotional flyers to include with your shipments to customers

7) Traffic reports are provided to you

8) When you're on vacation, you can put a vacation hold on your products
